Phoenix Emerges As Tech Jobs Hub
High cost of living along the west coast is leading tech companies and employees to hunt for cheaper alternatives, according to a report by Time magazine's Money section.
With its wonderful weather, low-cost living, and a thriving social, culinary and arts scene, Phoenix features 3rd on the list. Proximity to west coast tech hubs such as L.A., San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, and Portland also give Phoenix a leg up.
Phoenix has experienced significant growth in its tech ecosystem emerging as "Silicon Desert" with companies such as Uber, Yelp, Zenefits, and other tech startups having operations in Phoenix joining stalwarts such as Intel and Paypal who have called Phoenix home for a number of years. Favorable government policies also give Phoenix extra impetus.
